Reds' Dane Myers Carted From Field After Crashing Into Wall
Dane Myers was carted off after a shoulder-first collision with the wall, and the Reds did not immediately provide an injury update.
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Dane Myers left Monday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers after crashing shoulder-first into the outfield wall while making a highlight-reel catch in the fourth inning.
Myers raced 76 feet to rob Andrew Vaughn of an extra-base hit leading off the inning, securing the ball before slamming into the wall at full speed.
Fans at American Family Field gave Myers a standing ovation as he was carted off the field; TJ Friedl replaced him in center field after being recalled from Triple-A Louisville earlier in the day.
The injury compounds the Reds' roster crisis; Outfielder Blake Dunn, Pitchers Hunter Greene and Emilio Pagán, and third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes are already sidelined with various ailments.
With a 39-43 record, the Reds sit 4.5 games back in the wild card race and cannot afford additional roster losses as they battle for playoff position.
