Red light for proposed petrol filling station in Skipton

Plans for a petrol filling station on the outskirts of Skipton have been refused by district council planning committee members. The site, on designated Local Green Space, is between the A59 and Gargrave Road, to the east of the Gargrave roundabout. A vote refused the plans by six to three with designated green space, traffic congestion and non-viability of the business without 300 sq metre retail space given as reasons for refusal.
