Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia, vehemently exposed his perspective on the dangers facing humanity, and accused the governments of Europe and the United States with a severity that no head of government of a Latin American country had employed; he did so by intervening during a preparatory meeting for the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will take place from 10 to 21 November in Belém, in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon.
