German police report for 2024 - Violent and sexual crimes increased

Managing Federal Minister Faeser presented the police criminal statistics for the past year in Berlin. In particular, the number of recorded rapes and sexual assaults has increased - to a total of 13,300 cases.

Criminal statistics for 2024 show a particularly strong increase in the number of rapes and sexual harassment - by 9.3%. In addition, the number of crimes involving knives and firearms has increased.
