Ransomware, Sadistic Games and Millions of Euros in Bitcoin: Prosecutors Demand Maximum Sentence Against Russian Hackers
The federal prosecutor's office is demanding 13 years in prison for Russian Vadim S., who is said to be responsible for developing CryLock, one of the world's most widespread ransomware programs. The man is said to have stolen at least 53 million euros in Bitcoin through cybercrime, but according to his lawyer, the court in Brussels is not competent to judge the case. His accomplice Elena T. also risks a prison sentence.
