Raleigh tops U.S. in rise of wealthy renters, Redfin data shows

Nearly 8% of Raleigh-area renters earned more than $185,000 in 2023 — the biggest jump in wealthy renters nationwide, per Redfin. Rising home prices, flexibility and lifestyle perks are pushing even high earners to rent. Raleigh’s median home price rose 51% since 2019, hitting $423,000 last year.

Wilmington again one of the most moved-to spots, report says

Wilmington tied with Myrtle Beach as the No. 1 most moved-to city in PODS’ 2025 Moving Trends Report. It’s the third consecutive year Wilmington has topped the list. North Carolina claimed five of the top 20 spots overall, including Raleigh at No. 3 (6th in 2024) and Charlotte at No. 6 (5th in 2024).
