New Hartford's Sydney Bard, who will be entering her third pro season in 2026-27, is joining the Professional Women's Hockey League team in Detroit, the squad announced Wednesday night in a news release. A young blueliner is heading to Hockeytown. On Wednesday, PWHL Detroit announced that the team has signed defender Sydney Bard to a two-year contract, which will carry through the 2027-28 season.
