The protest comes following escalating demonstrations by one of the organizers, Standing Together, a coexistence and social justice movement, calling to end the war in Gaza. Five protesters were arrested
'Rivers of blood' protest outside IDF chief's home
Protesters, including soldiers in the reserves, poured red paint outside the home of IDF chief of staff Eyal Zamir "as a sign of the rivers of blood that will be spilled" if Israel goes to conquer Gaza City
The IDF will increase security for the Chief of Staff and the Commander of Central Command, as well as other officers. This follows the attack on the Chief of Staff's private home, on which protesters poured red paint. In addition, the IDF points to several elements who are to blame for the violent discourse.
Netanyahu: "The IDF, led by the Chief of Staff, is acting with morality and determination to defeat Hamas" • Katz: "Working nights and days to defend the State of Israel" • The coalition expressed support for Zamir after the unusual demonstration in front of his house - and what did Smotrich say?
The "Standing Together" organization, which was a partner in the demonstration, published: "The occupation of Gaza City will result in the killing of civilians, risking the lives of the hostages and the soldiers." The political establishment condemned: "Any attempt to harm the IDF and its commanders must be condemned."
