Despite objections and proposals from the opposition, the government left the minimum pension at 23,552 Turkish Lira. All proposals from the opposition to increase the pension were rejected by the government. Objections from unions to regulations that completely overhaul the personnel system at PTT (Turkish Post and Telegraph) and eliminate job security were also ignored.
