Prison Officer Stabbed at High-Security HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire

A 25-year-old prison officer was stabbed by an inmate at HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire on May 30, 2025.
West Mercia Police reported that the attack followed a disagreement between the officer and inmate, which escalated and is being treated as an isolated case.
Emergency teams, including the Midlands Air Ambulance, responded to the incident near South Littleton shortly after 8:39 a.m. And treated the officer for serious injuries before airlifting him to hospital.
Police have recovered a weapon, and the injured prison officer is currently hospitalized with stable health, while the 22-year-old suspect continues to be held in custody within the prison.
