In Croatia, There Are Large Differences in the Prices of Individual Products, These Cities Are the Most Expensive

The coastal counties and Zagreb turned out to be the most expensive, while the regions inland were the cheapest.

Recently, the Croatian Government introduced an obligation for retail chains to publish and update prices, which must be available to the public in a machine-readable form. This web project was created on this basis. The project was conceived as free, and was created by IT specialists to make it easier for citizens to compare prices.

An analysis of more than eight million product prices from almost 800 stores in Croatia has shown large differences between regions, as well as specific cities. The coastal counties and Zagreb turned out to be the most expensive, while the regions inland were the cheapest, the authors of the study from the Zagreb Institute of Economics found.
