VIDEO - Accused of assaulting a police officer in Tourcoing, a minor and a major were released under strict judicial supervision on Wednesday. In reaction, the Lille Public Prosecutor's Office decided to appeal in the case of the adult person, in order to review whether he or she is returning to pre-trial detention.
In Tourcoing, in the North, the release on Wednesday under strict judicial control of the suspects of the assault of one of their colleagues rebelled the police. The resigned Minister of Justice, Gérald Darmanin, even denounces an "obsolete law".
More than 350 people gathered in front of the police station in Tourcoing, according to the Alliance Police Nationale. Police officers and citizens are mobilizing against the release of two of the five youths involved.
