- On Wednesday, the Nasarawa State Police Command announced the successful rescue of one of three Federal University of Lafia students abducted Tuesday night from an off-campus hostel in Lafia.
- The abduction occurred at Living Seed Lodge, a residence located in a bushy area on the outskirts of Lafia, after unidentified gunmen forced their way inside the building.
- Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed immediately ordered tactical teams and patrol operatives deployed after the university's Chief Security Officer reported the abduction at 9:20 p.m.
- PPRO Ramhan Nansel confirmed intensified efforts to rescue the two remaining students, stating that "no effort will be spared in bringing the criminals to justice."
- Nansel warned students against renting isolated accommodation, noting that kidnappers often exploit high-tension corridors and cattle routes to escape into the surrounding bush after abductions.
