- The International Press Centre and the Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists condemned the violence, with IPC Executive Director Lanre Arogundade calling it a "direct attack on press freedom."
- Police spokesperson Nafi u Habib confirmed the command is investigating the incident, while the NUJ demanded Bauchi State Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu cover Adamu's medical expenses.
- A 2025 report by Media Rights Agenda documented 86 attacks on press freedom, with nearly 48 per cent attributed to law enforcement, echoing a recent assault on MITV reporter Habeeb Adejobi in Lagos.
