Poland, Czech Republic extend border controls with Slovakia to stem illegal migration

The Czech government has decided to extend current controls at the border with Slovakia until 3 January, reports the Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs. The controls are intended to combat illegal immigration and human smuggling. Slovakia is considered a transit country for migrants who want to go to Western Europe.
