NEW DELHI, INDIA, AUG 6 – Central Secretariat Service officers raise concerns over inadequate private office space in Kartavya Bhavan, highlighting risks to confidentiality despite modern infrastructure and sustainability features.
- On August 6, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan-03 at Kartavya Path in New Delhi around 12:15 pm.
- Under the Central Vista redevelopment project, the facility aims to streamline governance by consolidating ministries and departments, with Kartavya Bhavan-03 being the first of ten buildings.
- With sustainability in focus, Kartavya Bhavan-03 spans about 1.5 lakh square meters, featuring rooftop solar panels that generate over 5.34 lakh units annually and consumes 30 per cent less energy.
- Replacing Shastri Bhawan and Krishi Bhawan, Kartavya Bhavan will house the Ministries of Home Affairs, External Affairs, Rural Development, MSME, DoPT, Petroleum & Natural Gas and the Principal Scientific Adviser's office, promising improved productivity and reduced costs.
- Beyond the inauguration, two under-construction Common Central Secretariat buildings will be completed by next month, and CCS 10 by April next year, with an Executive Enclave planned for key offices.
