In a fresh crackdown on illegal fishing practices, authorities at Katunguru Landing Site have burnt fishing gear worth 431 million shillings, following an outcry from local leaders over rampant use of unauthorized nets and equipment on Lake George and the Kazinga Channel.
Tarija, June 19, 2025 (ATB Digital).-The Defensoría del Pueblo Regional Chaco, through its coordinator Walter Portillo, denounced an alarming situation of illegal fishing in the river Pilcomayo, where unauthorized traps that affect the ecosystem were installed.
