PICS | Two Mexicans Among Five Arrested in R600m Crystal Meth Lab Bust in Limpopo
The Hawks shut down a suspected R600 million crystal methamphetamine laboratory on a farm in Musina, Limpopo, early on Friday, August 21, 2026, following a two-month investigation.
Authorities arrested five foreign nationals during an intelligence-driven operation late on Thursday, August 20, seizing drugs, laboratory equipment, and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigators confirmed the five suspects, aged between 20 and 47, include two Mexican nationals, two Zimbabwean nationals, and one Malawian national.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Musina Magistrate on Monday, August 24, as Hawks Limpopo provincial head Major General Gopz Govender vowed to pursue the networks behind the operation.
This raid marks the third clandestine drug laboratory authorities have shut down in Limpopo, building on a similar major bust in Swartruggens in the North West province during May 2026.
