- On Tuesday, Philippine authorities were searching for 12 after the motorboat Amejara left southern Davao city Saturday night with nine passengers and four crew but failed to arrive Monday in Governor Generoso.
- Joined by the Philippine navy, air force and maritime police, the Philippine coast guard launched a search Monday in the Davao Gulf and outlying waters.
- Passengers aboard were mostly business people and professionals, including a lawyer, who fish for sports and leisure in the tuna-rich waters, authorities said.
- Coast guard calls went out to passing ships, fishing boats and coastal communities around the Davao Gulf to report any sighting of Amejara and its occupants, officials including Noemie Cayabyab said.
- One crew member was rescued before noon on Tuesday while drifting off Sarangani island, officials including Noemie Cayabyab said.
