Coinciding with the second meeting of his cabinet of ministers, just beginning to function his government, Péter Magyar convened this morning an extraordinary press conference at which he presented internal documents on the "candal of pardons", which caused in 2024 the fall of then President Katalin Novák and Justice Minister Judit Varga, and which has become one of the axes of the institutional regeneration of her project for the "new Hungary".
This was the second meeting of the Tisza government.
The outgoing government falsified the budget, failing to declare at least 286 billion forints – it was announced after Monday's government meeting. They will examine how justified the use of military aircraft was. They will reform the executive system. They are willing to negotiate with Ferenc Krausz, but not with Gyula Balásy. It will be mandatory to participate in the hearings of the parliamentary investigative committees.
According to Péter Magyar, the government discussed, among other things, the publicity of pardon files, the transformation of enforcement, and the 2026 budget.
