Person of interest in Connecticut mall shooting that wounded 5 people detained, police say
- Waterbury police detained a person of interest after a shooting at the Brass Mill Center mall wounded five people on May 28, 2025.

- Officers responded around 4:40 p.m. To reports of a disturbance and found a man in his 20s had fired a semiautomatic pistol inside the mall.

- Connecticut state police joined the investigation, all wounded victims received hospital treatment, and officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
