A 48-acre nectarine orchard, narrowly escaped the blaze in the forest fire that broke out between the Gürsu and Kestel districts of Bursa on July 26 and was brought under control yesterday, remained green despite the surrounding area being reduced to ashes. One of the orchard owners, Hamdi Ülgen, said, "It saved us because we watered it constantly. We were afraid it would burn, but there were huge flames here."
