— OPINION — With no fanfare after 89 reported sick, the FDA has closed its investigation into a romaine lettuce E. coli outbreak without telling the public more and the CDC continues to remain mum. What we do know: Outbreak posting was Dec. 4, 2024 as an E. coli 
O157:H7 event now tied to romaine

Patient count in Listeria outbreak grows; investigation into E. coli outbreak closed

The Food and Drug Administration is continuing to investigate several outbreaks of foodborne illnesses and has closed its investigation into an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak. For an outbreak of infections from Listeria monocytogenes, the agency reports that the patient count has increased to 37, up from 34 reported a week ago.
