- Cottrill held the sculpture hostage in a warehouse until receiving a final $90,000 payment on April 22, then worked through the night to complete gold-leafing before the April 30 Cadillac Championship.
- Addressing idolatry concerns, Burns stated, 'This is not a golden calf,' while Trump praised the installation on Truth Social as 'The Real Deal' and 'GOLD' placed by 'great American Patriots.'
- Although Eric Trump clarified earlier this year that the Trump Organization has no official association with the $PATRIOT token, the family permitted the installation on their golf course property.
