Parole hearing set for man convicted of rape, sodomy - The Selma Times‑Journal

A Selma man who was convicted of the rape and sodomy of an elementary school student in 1999 will have a hearing on March 27 in front of the Alabama Board Pardons and Parole. The board will see whether they will grant parole to Andrew Smitherman, 66, who was convicted of Sodomy I and Rape I in January 1999.
