Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) won the fifth stage of the Paris-Nice race. Last year's winner Matteo Jorgenson (Visma Lease a Bike) took the overall lead with third place in the stage, while his teammate Jonas Vingegaard fell behind after a crash.

Jonas Vingegaard lost his yellow jersey in Paris-Nice to his Visma teammate Matteo Jorgenson. Vingegaard crashed earlier in the tough fifth stage, but was able to continue. Frenchman Lenny Martinez took the stage victory.
