Pakistan Super League to be held from March 26 next year, will clash with IPL 2026
The Pakistan Super League expands to eight teams and will last 39 days, overlapping the Indian Premier League and causing adjustments to Pakistan's international fixtures, PCB said.
- On Monday, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the 11th Pakistan Super League will run from March 26 to May 3 next year, overlapping the Indian Premier League and forcing a schedule rejig.
- The PCB said the auction on January 8 will offer rights for two new franchises to expand the PSL, which will be played from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
- The 11th season will be the longest yet at 39 playing days, with more matches expected once the two new teams join the match schedule.
- Naqvi said international commitments will be re-adjusted, including a tour of Bangladesh with two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in March-April, and final fixtures depend on two new franchises.
- Following earlier calendar shifts, the ICC T20 World Cup this year occupied the first nine PSL editions' window, and the previous PSL season moved to the April-May window due to the Champions Trophy.
