Over 40 firefighters were called to a fire in Surbiton on Friday evening.

London Fire Brigade were first called to a row of garages on Adelaide Road at 5:30pm. All 10 of the garages as well as three gas cylinders were damaged by the blaze, which was brought under control just after 7:15 that night. The Brigade are treating the fire as accidental and believe it was caused by a lithium-ion battery failure in a small power tool.
