Over 1 Million Bottles of Popular Cleaning Product Recalled: Here's Why

  • On January 22, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced recall number 26-201 for 1.5 million Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover bottles sold in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Thrasio, Boston-based company, issued the recall on Thursday for Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Removers sold from March 2019 through December 2025 at Walmart, Target, and other stores for $4 to $60.
  • Affected products include Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover in Fresh Clean and Orange Twist scents sold in 24-oz., 32-oz. and 1-gallon sizes, with some bottles bundled with a UV light.
  • Consumers should stop using the product, email a photo marked `recalled` with their initials to productrecall@angryorange.com for a refund, then dispose of the bottle in household trash; no injuries have been reported, the CPSC said.
  • Health officials warned that Pseudomonas aeruginosa may enter through inhalation, eyes, or skin and cause infection in people with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or lung conditions, the CDC noted.
