Ousted clerk's lawsuit against Shreveport moved to federal court
A discrimination lawsuit filed by former Shreveport Clerk of Council Shanerika Flemings has been moved to federal court after she received her "right to sue" from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Flemings was publicly fired in 2023 during a council meeting in which she aired her accusations against two council members prior to a 4-3 vote to terminate her.
