The National Assembly voted on Thursday evening a moratorium on any new wind and photovoltaic plant, leaving a major risk on the development of these sectors in France. Presented by MP LR Jérôme Nury, the amendment aimed at a moratorium on any wind and solar project was adopted by a narrow margin. The amendment tabled by the Republicans could be adopted thanks to the votes of the National Rally and the group of Eric Ciotti. A decision deemed "perfectly irresponsible" by the Minister of Industry Marc Ferracci.

Before a solemn vote on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, the MEPs pushed back the energy programming law by adopting amendments, from the right or the far right, in favour of the reopening of the Fessenheim nuclear power plant and establishing a moratorium on wind and solar energy.
