Omaha man faces charges for alleged assault that injured woman in downtown

Around 6:15 a.m., officers responded to S 15th and Douglas streets, near the Union Pacific building, for an assault. Officers found the victim, a 65-year-old woman, with injuries to her upper body and right arm. She was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and it was determined that she had a small brain bleed and a fractured arm/wrist. On Friday, the suspect was positively identified as Chen Vang, who was already detained at Douglas County Corrections on unrelated charges.
