Olivia Rodrigo visits Versailles in 'Drop Dead' music video
Petra Collins directed the video, which shows Rodrigo moving through Versailles in a Marie Antoinette-inspired look.
On Friday, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo, 23, released the music video for her new single 'Drop Dead,' filmed at the Palace of Versailles.
Directed by Toronto-born photographer Petra Collins, the video shows Rodrigo dancing through historic state rooms with lyrics comparing a love interest to painted figures on Versailles' walls.
Rodrigo wore a dusty blue off-the-shoulder Chloé pre-fall 2026 top while traversing the Galerie des Batailles and the Queen's Apartments, a 19th-century royal residence suite.
Filming at the Palace requires administrative approval and off-hours scheduling, similar to Sofia Coppola's 2006 film Marie Antoinette, which reportedly paid around €15,000 daily for access.
'Drop Dead' serves as the first chapter of Rodrigo's forthcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, slated for release on June 12.
