- In Paris, France, the Ogun State Government and DP World MEA FZE signed Memoranda of Understanding for the Gateway Deep Sea Port and Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, representing more than $7 billion in initial investment.
- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu witnessed the signing, commending Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for structuring the investment framework. The development aligns with the federal Renewed Hope Agenda and Ogun's Building Our Future Together strategy.
- The Gateway Deep Sea Port will feature a four-kilometre berth and an 18-metre draft, integrated with a 10,000-hectare Blue Marine Special Economic Zone to support manufacturing and decongest the Lagos port corridor.
- These projects are projected to generate over 50,000 direct jobs while creating an integrated platform for industrial production, maritime commerce, and improved access to African and global markets for Nigerian exports.
- The emerging corridor will link the port to the 28-kilometre Ogun section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, connecting to the Nigerian Navy Operating Base, Dockyard, and the OK LNG Project.
