Ofcom to investigate Sky over ‘harassment’ of Farage’s daughter
The regulator is reviewing whether Sky News breached privacy and fairness rules after Reform UK complained about a reporter’s visit.
Regulator Ofcom launched a formal investigation into Sky News today following a complaint from Reform regarding a reporter's visit to the home of Nigel Farage's daughter on July 6.
Farage accused Sky News of 'harassing' his daughter after releasing CCTV footage appearing to show two approaches to the property, saying he was 'appalled' by how his family were treated.
Sky News denied interacting with Farage's daughter, stating it approached the property once without a camera operator and sought to contact Farage regarding a £5 million gift from Christopher Harborne.
Farage faces a Parliament standards investigation regarding the £5 million gift accepted from Harborne, alongside potential scrutiny over support provided by George Cottrell.
Regulator Ofcom treats fairness and privacy complaints in strict confidence and will not publicly confirm identities involved, as the probe determines whether journalistic practices during the visit crossed privacy thresholds.
