Wild turkey hunters in Ohio checked 4,281 birds during the opening weekend of the spring hunting season, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. The season began on Saturday, April 19. In 2024, hunters bagged 4,367 wild turkeys on the opening weekend, with a three-year average (2022 to 2024) of 3,912.
