Nunn Introduces Bill to Suspend Trump’s Beef Imports, Bolster US Herd

- Addressing the U.S. cattle herd's 75-year low, the proposed Beef Import and Domestic Supply Advisory Board would "complement" the USDA's "Ranchers First Initiative" by consulting with Congress on rebuilding strategy.
- Iowa Cattlemen's Association CEO Bryan Whaley thanked the representatives in a statement, noting the effort keeps the focus on rebuilding the domestic cattle herd at the federal level.
- Meanwhile, Politico reported on Wednesday that White House officials are exploring whether to cut back President Donald Trump's decision to increase foreign beef imports, citing two people with direct knowledge.
