Last year, more people checked into public transport than the year before, but still much less than in 2019, before the coronavirus measures. This is reported by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).

We still travel less by public transport than before corona. In 2022, the public transport checked in 966 million times. That is almost 30 percent less than in 2019, the last year before the pandemic.

In 2022, public transport checked in 966 million times. This is an increase of 40 percent compared to 2021, but more than 27 percent less than in 2019, with the most frequent check-ins in November 2022. In January, when there were still coronavirus measures, there was the least amount of check-in.
