A nuclear waste transport from the Rhenish Jülich arrived after a journey across North Rhine-Westphalia in the intermediate camp Ahaus. The convoy with a Castor container reached the destination 170 kilometers away at night.
The Castor transport containing highly radioactive nuclear waste from the Jülich research center has arrived at the interim storage facility in Ahaus, North Rhine-Westphalia. According to police, the journey proceeded without incident.
The Greens in NRW see the Castor transports as a result of the lack of concepts of the federal government. They doubt the seriousness of the federal government in the search for a repository.
