Journalist Carina Bergfeldt becomes this year's Santa Claus. "She is a fantastic storyteller, and a master at getting in touch with people," says SVT's program director Eva Beckman about the choice.
The Christmas values were presented in "Morning Studio" on Thursday morning.
Since 1959, SVT viewers have been joined by a Christmas host during Christmas Eve. Last year it was Siw Malmkvist who turned on the lights on 24 December — the 2026 Christmas host will soon be presented.
Carina Bergfeldt, 46, will be this year's Christmas host. "The worst that can happen is that I set the studio on fire," she says in SVT.
It is Carina Bergfeldt who will lead TV viewers through Christmas Eve on SVT. – It feels incredibly fun and nervous. I am excited. I have known about this for two and a half months, she tells TT.
