The Cathedral of Notre-Dame attracts more visitors than ever before. Since the reopening, the numbers have been increasing continuously. Now the government has dared a controversial advance.
Notre-Dame reopened its doors to the public on December 16th of last year after the 2019 fire. By June 30th of this year, the cathedral had been visited by around six million people, making it the most visited monument in France.
Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is the most visited French monument this year, surpassing the Sacré-Coeur Basilica on Montmartre, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower, among others. It is estimated that 12 million people will visit it by the end of the year, twice as many as have already visited it since its reopening in December 2024.
