North Korea has displayed its new Hwasan-31 warheads and promised to produce more weapons-grade nuclear material in order to increase its arsenal, according to state media KCNA. The display of the new warheads, which may indicate progress in miniaturisation that allows them to be mounted on intercontinental ballistic missiles that could reach the US, is thought to be aimed at scuppering planned South Korean military drills.
