NordicTrack Rowing Machines Recalled After Reports of Fires
Six reports of overheating consoles and two fires led to a recall of NordicTrack rowing machines sold through major retailers, with no injuries reported.
- On Oct. 16, 2025, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of more than 44,000 NordicTrack rowing machines in the United States and Canada.
- Sold between Nov. 2018 and April 2022, the machines were produced in China and imported by iFIT Inc. of Logan, Utah; their screen console can overheat and ignite.
- There have been eight reported incidents including two fires and six reports of smoking or melting, causing at least $6,000 in property damage; the recall covers models NTRW19147.0 through NTRW19147.3 with the model number on a decal at the rower base.
- Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug recalled machines and contact iFIT to arrange a free home repair by an authorized technician; self-replacement is not permitted, claims can be made online or by calling 833-680-4348.
- The recall follows an early 2024 NordicTrack recall involving dumbbells with an electronic eight selector that responded to voice prompts, while the recalled rowers are black, gray and white with 'NordicTrack' and 'RW900' markings.
