- Implementing supply interventions, officials said, on March 8 the government directed refineries and petrochemical units to maximise LPG output and increase booking gaps from 21 to 25 days, with Sharma stating, 'Our gas companies have procured LNG cargo from new sources. Two LNG cargo are on their way to India.'
- Authorities said they prioritised household LPG consumers by diverting extra domestic LPG to homes, prompting restaurants in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Gurugram to adjust operations, while industrial gas consumers receive variable supply levels.
- Diversifying supplies, officials noted India sources crude from about 40 nations and requires roughly 5.5 million barrels per day while global LPG prices have risen about 43 per cent since July 2023.
