Nijmegen Restricts Alcohol Sales During Four Days Marches Festivities
Nijmegen is restricting the sale of alcohol in the city centre during the Four Days Marches. Supermarkets and other shops are not allowed to sell drinks between 12:00 and midnight, the city council decided last night. Of the 39 city council members, only the three SP members voted against. Nijmegen bans alcohol sales in city center during Vierdaagse event
Supermarkets and other retail stores in the center of Nijmegen will be prohibited from selling alcohol between noon and midnight during the annual Vierdaagsefeesten in July, a massive weeklong street festival that coincides with the International Four Days Marches, the world’s largest multiple-day walking event.
Shops in Nijmegen Are Not Allowed to Sell Alcohol Around the Four Days Marches
Supermarkets and other shops in the city centre of Nijmegen are not allowed to sell alcohol between 12:00 and midnight during the Four Days Marches in July. The council of the Gelderland municipality approved a proposal from the board to that effect on Wednesday evening. 35 council members voted in favour and three against.
