No. 3 Notre Dame uses big plays to rout Stanford 58-7 for its 16th straight victory

On Saturday, third-ranked Notre Dame routed the Stanford Cardinal 58-7 in South Bend, Indiana, extending the Fighting Irish's undefeated season to 6-0.
The Fighting Irish extended their winning streak to 16 games, all by double-digits, while the Cardinal suffered their 14th consecutive road loss, tying Ball State's program record.
Freshman Jonaz Walton recorded a 97-yard touchdown run, the third-longest offensive play in Notre Dame Stadium history, while quarterback CJ Carr finished with 181 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Notre Dame dominated the first half, leading 37-0 at halftime while outgaining Stanford 320 yards to 86, as defensive end Boubacar Traore forced a fumble and recorded an interception.
The Irish travel to BYU on October 17 for their first marquee matchup of the season, while Stanford returns home next Saturday to play Elon.
