Nigeria: Lagos to Host Nigeria/UAE Investopia, February
- On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu announced that Nigeria will co-host Investopia with the United Arab Emirates in Lagos, a statement confirmed by Mr Bayo Onanuga.
- Following Nigeria's CEPA with the UAE, President Bola Tinubu framed co-hosting as part of deepening trade and unlocking sustainable investments.
- The forum will convene investors, innovators, policymakers and business leaders, officials said it will strengthen cooperation across renewable energy, aviation, logistics, agriculture and digital trade.
- Aims include mobilising up to 30 billion dollars annually in climate and green industrial finance, and Tinubu said Nigeria now has over 50 billion dollars in investment commitments to convert into investments.
- Nigeria has strengthened climate governance with a National Carbon Market Activation Policy and National Carbon Registry, and a World Bank programme will expand clean power access to 17.5 million Nigerians.
