Niger: Orano Mining's Local Director Still Detained 3 Months Later

On 5 May 2025, a search was carried out on the premises of Orano in Niamey, in a context of arms of iron between the French uranium giant and the Niger authorities since the coup d'état two years ago. The director of Orano Mining in the country had then been taken away. He has since remained detained in the Niger's external security premises (DGDSE).
