A vegetation fire that broke Monday out near Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore burned 50 acres Monday and was 35% contained. The blaze was reported shortly after 12:40 p.m. Monday near Interstate 15 and Nichols Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
