Newport News Commonwealth's Attorney dethrones incumbent of over 30 years

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Shannon Jones has officially won the race for Newport News Commonwealth's Attorney over incumbent Howard Gwynn, who has served in the role for over 30 years. Voters in Newport News went to the polls Tuesday, or voted early, in two local Democratic primaries: Treasurer and Commonwealth's Attorney. The winners of these races will be on the November ballot. Below are the results for the two races.
